Nagaland government is planning to develop 3 x 14 MW Tizu Hydel power project in Kihire district of Nagaland. The company has asked May Encons Pvt Ltd to prepare the detailed feasibility report. The total project cost is estimated at ₹ 6013 million. The state government is facing electricity shortages and is purchasing power to the tune of ₹ 2500 million.
Currently, the peak power demand estimated a 165 MW is expected to reach 250 MW by end of 2020.
