About the Company :
Lachung Hydro Power Private Ltd was incorporated on 24-05-2006 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for setting up Hydro Power Projects in the state of Sikkim. The company has been allotted a Lachung Hydro Power project on Lachung Chu River in North Sikkim with an aggregate capacity of 40 MW.
Preliminary survey and investigation has placed the capacity in the range of 84 MW. The company is currently conducting the detailed survey and investigations for the preparation of the DPR. M/s. SNC Lavalin has been appointed as the Consultant for this project. The company has received the consent of the Ministry of Environment and Forest for conducting the EIA / EMP studies and the Terms of Reference has been approved by the Ministry. M/s. WAPCOS a Government of India Undertaking is conducting the EIA / EMP studies.
The company has obtained the approval of the Local Dzumsa for the implementation of the project.
