West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (WBSEDCL) is planning to set up a 900 MW Bandu pumped storage hydel power project in the state. The project involves setting up of a 71 meter rock fill upper with hydel storage dam across river Bandu in Ayodhya village in Purulia district of West Bengal.
It also involves construction of underground power house with four numbers Francis type reversible pump-turbine of capacity 225/255 MW. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 38,091 million.
