TANGEDCO is planning to set up a 20 MW hydro electric power project in Puliancholai village in Kollimalai hills in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. The project involves setting up of a weir in Asakkadupetti which will source water from River Ayyaru near Arpaleeswarar temple, which will store water and hydro power will be generated through it. The project cost is estimated at ₹3390 million. The company has awarded the contract to SSIPL-GMW-HUNAN ALLONWARD – a Chinese consortium.
