Gujarat State Electricity Corp Ltd is planning to develop Amalpada pumped storage scheme in Sonagadh in Tapi in Gujarat. The project involves setting up of a closed off-stream loop pumped storage scheme to generate power of 300 MW. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 17,721 million. The company is also planning to develop Juni Kayaliwel Pumped Storage Hydro Electric Project (300 MW) in an area of 308.77 ha in village Kayaliwel, Sub District Songadh and also in Serula in Tapi.
