NTPC is setting up 3 x 40 MW (120 MW) Rammam Hydel Electric Power project in Bagdogra / Siliguri in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. The project will be a run-off-the-river scheme with a head race tunnel of – 8.2 Km long, 4.00 m dia. D-shaped, with one Adit 800m long with a design discharge of 28 cumecs. The project involves setting up of Pelton turbine units to generate 475 MU of electricity.
